Jajce is one of the most photogenic towns in the country. The Pliva waterfall sits in the town centre, with a medieval fortress and Old Town above it. Nearby Pliva Lakes are ideal for a gentle walk or lunch by the water.
Jajce fits easily into a Sarajevo – Travnik – Jajce route, especially if you want to see central Bosnia at a relaxed pace. Many travellers combine Jajce with Travnik on the same or following day.
Travnik was the seat of Bosnian viziers and is known today for its well-preserved fortress, historic mosques and traditional cuisine, especially ćevapi made the Travnik way. The town is compact and easy to explore in a few hours.
As a stop on the way to Jajce or back to Sarajevo, Travnik offers an authentic look at the history and daily life of central Bosnia, without the crowds of larger tourist hubs.
